Baseball Game Shooting Instructions

General Tips:

  • Try not to include backstop/fence in shot if possible (Sometimes this can’t be avoided), if filming through fence, try to get as close up as possible
  • Try not to talk or scream when filming
  • No chewing gum
  • Vertical or Horizontal video is fine
  • Make sure footage isn’t too blurry or shaky (Tri-pods are recommended to help with this)

Hitting

Angle #1: Back Angle, position camera/phone behind catcher and about 5-10 feet to the right of home plate, make sure to get the pitcher, catcher, hitter, and ump in the shot, See Examples BELOW: (Don’t position camera/phone directly behind catcher)

Preferred/Recommended Shot through fence/net

If you are not able to shoot through the fence/net, get as close as possible.

Angle #2: Side Angle, for Left-Handed Hitters, down the 3B side, for Right-Handed Hitters down the 1B side. Don’t need to include pitcher in shot, See Examples BELOW:

Fielding

It’s incredibly difficult to capture good quality fielding clips in a live game setting. We recommend using our individual workout/combine shooting instructions to get proper fielding footage.
